Hiking up a mountain in high heat and humidity without sufficient fitness levels was perhaps not the best decision ever made. It was however worth the effort. This trail was in Jacques Cartier National Park, Quebec, a stunning park centered around a meandering road through a mountain valley. I’ve posted photos from this location before, but it’s nice to revisit and try to refine. We’ve had a pile of rain lately so there’s a lot of water moving through which makes for some nice long exposures.
We’re fortunate enough to have a massive nature preserve just minutes from our house. The hiking can be rugged but it’s also possibly on the list to become a National Park. Out for a short hike after work, I found this rather lovely cascade a little downstream from where the trail crosses.
