PEI Aerial Sunrise
I don’t make it out for a lot of sunrises, but the beauty of staying on the ocean in Prince Edward Island in March is that it actually becomes pretty easy. Particularly when the drone can do most of the walking for you.

I nearly talked myself out of going out the night these photos were taken. It was a long day, I was worn out, and the sun had dipped behind a layer of cloud making everything look flat and dull. I didn’t stay home though, and on the short walk to the shore I was rewarded with the most wonderful side light a photographer could hope for. The light transition was truly remarkable and led to one of my favorite photos of all time. Too much wind for my drone, but the conditions on the ground were more than I could have hoped for. ...
Finally got an opportunity to really try out the DJI Mini 4 Pro with a calm and beautiful sunset on the north shore of Prince Edward Island.
Weeks like this call for a little ocean therapy. Maybe a lot.
A quiet February Friday morning wandering around an empty and utterly frigid Peggy’s Cove led to some of my favorite photos of all time. These are a great example of what happens on an overcast day when the clouds provide just the right amount of diffusion, the light just works.
