This site features photography and video content by Devan Goodwin, a software engineer and amateur photographer in Atlantic Canada. Content is mostly created with my FujiFilm XT-4 and some aerial work with a DJI Mini 4 Pro drone.
I’ve made unsuccessful attempts to take up photography since the early 2000’s, but it wasn’t until the pandemic that I was able to really invest and make a concerted effort. The loss of nature for brief times, and the benefits I found there for the rest of the pandemic inspired me to finally attempt to capture that nature and served as a great motivator to get outside and create something. You’ll see a great deal of the ocean in these photographs, something that was a major part of my coping process during that time.
In 2025 I’m working on learning video and branching out into aerial photography/video, as well as publishing to Youtube.
By day I’m a software engineer and you’ll find renmants of some rare thoughts on technology/programming/open source on rm-rf.ca.
I believe deeply in the open web and the way technology once worked before silicon valley social media destroyed so much in their quest for wealth at our expense. As such you can stay updated on new posts RSS should you have a RSS reader in your life. This will automatically notify you when new posts or galleries go up, a relic of a simpler time, but no less functional and useful today.
This site also features no ads, and no Google analytics, rather privacy aware open source analytics I host myself.
I appreciate you just being here to read this, and I hope you find something you enjoy in these pages.
